The 1797-PS2E2 is a specialized power supply module designed specifically for the FLEX Ex I/O system. Unlike standard power supplies, this unit is Intrinsically Safe (IS), meaning it is engineered to limit electrical and thermal energy to levels that cannot ignite a flammable or explosive atmosphere.
It is typically mounted in a Zone 1 or Class I, Div 1 hazardous area (when inside a flameproof enclosure) to provide power to FLEX Ex I/O modules and their associated sensors/actuators.
