The 1783-CMS6B is the entry-level model of the Stratix 5410 family. It is a 6-port, 19-inch rack-mountable Layer 2 Managed Ethernet Switch. Designed for industrial “Distribution” or “Aggregation” layers, it acts as a central hub to connect smaller machine-level switches to the broader plant network.
This model is a Layer 2 Standard switch, meaning it handles traffic based on MAC addresses and does not perform IP routing (which is reserved for the “N” or “P” versions).
