The 1794-AENT is a communication adapter that allows FLEX I/O modules to interface with an EtherNet/IP network. It acts as the “head” of a modular I/O station, sitting on a 1794-TB3 (or similar) terminal base and managing data exchange between the physical I/O modules and a Logix5000 controller.
It is the standard Ethernet replacement for legacy 1794-ASB (Remote I/O) and 1794-ADN (DeviceNet) adapters.
