The 1783-ETAP1F is a specialized “Ring Tap” designed to integrate single-port EtherNet/IP devices into a Device Level Ring (DLR). Unlike the standard ETAP (which is all-copper), the “1F” version features one Fiber Optic port and one Copper port for the ring connection.
This module is the “bridge” used when you need to extend a high-availability ring across a long distance or through a high-noise area where copper cabling would fail.
